You’re a conscious entrepreneur. You’re aware. You’re smart.

You’ve spent your life learning something, developing a real expertise. You’re good at it.

You have that white-hot burning desire that Napoleon Hill writes in Think and Grow Rich. You have a yearning to do good and change peoples lives. But nothing’s happening.

You’ve gone to the teleseminars. You’ve studied the marketing. You did what they told you to do.

You’ve made a product. You’ve got a web site. You’ve gambled on Google Adwords and watched your account drain faster than a roulette table. And…not much to show for it.

So you…read all the books. You listen to all the programs. You watch The Secret 157 times – so much that you could write your own book on the Law of Attraction. And still… you’re not experiencing the joy and the financial success you want from the business you dream about.

It’s not your fault.

Take comfort…you’re not alone. Entrepreneurs around the world are all in the same position as you. Feeling the same overwhelm of information, of their own ideas, of unfulfilled possibility. There’s just too much information today to do anything with it.

We live in an unprecedented age where the business playing field is completely leveled. Businesses large and small have access to the same information, the same distribution, and the same customers. In fact smaller businesses have the advantage. A smaller footprint means you can run faster.

But instead of thriving today, most entrepreneurs feel trapped in their own business and are sadly barely surviving. In fact, less than 44% of the one million businesses started in the U.S. ever survive to year four.

To make sure you are reliably able to leverage your knowledge, your skill, your expertise and your desire, and stay out of the 66% crash and burn pile, here are five reasons you may be going nowhere fast in your business and what you can do about it.

Information Overwhelm-Emphasis today is on sharing and leveraging knowledge. It’s no wonder that information is raining down on you. Without a way to categorize the information and determine it’s it right for you at the right time, it’ll all seem great AND you will not be able to put it to great use in your business.

Ideas Galore-With information at your fingertips comes unlimited possibilities. There’s so much you can do now. So naturally you’ve got ideas left and right. Without a solid structure and some way to put your business ideas into context, all your ideas start taking on the behavior of a hungry child, pick me, feed me.

Baby Steps Lead to Baby Steps-With so much information, the easiest way to break through the noise and sell faster and harder is a term we call the silver bullet- the small steps that promise to solve everything. After buying into one too many silver bullets, you realize they don’t take you where you want to go-long-term success. As a result, you end up feeling frustrated and skeptical. Without taking big steps for your big picture, you’ll stay right where you’re at-and before you know it, you’re going backwards.

Destination Unknown-With all this information there’s a lot of shifting unknown. This makes it hard to know where you’re going specifically in your business. Today most entrepreneurs say, I want financial freedom, or I want what that person has. Without picking a specific point that represents the success you want, you’ll never be able to get there and all you’ll have is the perpetual feeling that you’re not there.

Jumping the Gun-The side affect of all this possibility is the misleading act of rushing to market before an entrepreneur has created a solid business. A product or a website does not make a business. It is one thing that will always cause you to search for the next thing. Delivering a service does not make a business. It creates a job. One that will keep you looking for the next customer. Both have become exhausting and eventually you run out of steam and burn out.

Take a breath. All is not hopeless.

These mistakes and many others are easy to fix if you know the eight stages that a business must go through to reach reliable long-lasting success.
