Of course it matters what you allow to put into your mouth. Will it
surprise you if I tell you it matters more what you allow to come out of
your mouth? “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.”

What you consistently think and say will take you forward into the health
and fitness you desire, or what you think and say on a consistent basis will
turn you around and take you backward toward failure of ever achieving your
goal.

Our thoughts that we thought yesterday became words. Our words that we
spoke yesterday—made life what it is today. You and I are where we are
today because of what we have allowed ourselves to think on and to speak.

Your faith frames your world daily. Words are carriers of faith. Your
words create images and eventually you will live out the reality of that
image. Every time you speak your faith, it creates a stronger image inside
you. It is like adding another piece to the beautiful picture puzzle you
are working on: the picture of the new you. You will live out the image you
hold.

Our major center for weight control is in the brain, the hypothalamus gland
to be exact. It sends out message to the body as to when the body needs
more fuel and when less. Charles Capps writes that some sickness is caused
by a chemical imbalance in the body, and the part of the brain that controls
the speech also controls the secretion of chemicals to the body.

Could it be possible that the same chemicals that are so closely tied to
sickness or health are also tied to weight loss or weight gain? And even
more important, could they EACH be tied to our speech?

Your own words give instruction to your body, and your immune system will
eventually respond to your instructions. God’s method is to call for
positive things, even though they are not yet there. You call them until
they are there. A good example to explain this is to think of calling your
dog. You don’t call him to come if he is right there. You call him when he
is not there and you keep calling until he comes.

A biblical principle in Mark 11:23 tells us we can have what we say.
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be
thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH.” However, most are saying what they
have. You and I won’t have it just because we say it, but the saying is
definitely a part of the having.

Words are energy and energy affects matter. The energy of your microwave
vibrates the water molecules and heats the water. The energy of electricity
flows to your washing machine and powers the motor that spins the tub and
cleans your clothes. So, we can rightfully say that energy affects matter.”

Your words are energy that affects the matter in your life. When you speak
the words, “I can just look at a piece of cake and gain five pounds,” you
are sending out vibrations of energy. If you speak these words long enough,
your body will obey you!

Words heal us or make us sick.
Words bless us or curse us.
The words you speak locate you.
The words you speak fix the landmarks of your life.

Your angels are listening to your words. They only work on things good and
pure and lovely. They only work on things that are in agreement with what
the God of this universe has said in his instruction manual. Are you giving
the angels any projects to work on for you, or do you have their hands tied
because you are not speaking what you desire to come to pass.

Here is the bottom line. You and I can have what we say. Our tongue is the
pen of a ready writer. Each day you are writing a page of your life.

What are you constructing today? What are you speaking into existence? Do
you have goals in your life? Goals are expressions of your hopes. Hope
comes first. In fact, hope is the goal setter. Hope is like the outline of
what it is that you want to have in life. Next comes faith. Faith is the
substance of those things hoped for. Without hope, faith has no container to
give substance to. We begin to fill in the outline of our hope with faith
by saying. Saying is sowing.

Your life is composed of your choices and constructed by your words. What
you discipline yourself to think on will be the material that designs your
words because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Not only is it important to absolutely refuse immediately any thought that
you do not wish to come to pass. It is also important to cherish the
thoughts of those things good and pure and lovely and of a good report.
Choose to think on those thoughts in a disciplined fashion that you want to
come to pass. Once you do this, your words will follow.
