The Five Step Formula to Overcome Any Life Adversity and Bounce Back Quickly and Higher Than Ever!

Sonia Ricotti: The first step is: Master Your Mind and Recreate Your Reality. Often, when we're going through a difficult time in our lives, we feel angry, stressed, worried, fearful, and resentful. Whatever the situations is and whatever feelings you have, we automatically assume that the reason you feel that way is because of what is going on in your life or because of what happened.

For instance, if I see someone who is crying and angry, I'll say, "What happened? What's going on? Why are you feeling this way?" They'll say, "My husband just left me. That's why I'm upset, depressed and frustrated." That isn't true. That's not why you feel the way you feel. It isn't. Yes, that external situation happened, but it isn't the reason you're feeling that way.

There's something that happens outside of you, whether you are about to lose your home, or you lost your job, or your spouse just cheated on you and wants a divorce, or you're going through a major breakup, or you have a major health issue. Whatever it is, you have an external situation and then you feel a certain way about it. The truth is that something in between happens.

What happens in between is that you have a thought about what's going on outside of you. That thought you have at that moment about the situation outside of you is making you feel the way you feel. It isn't that external situation. It's the thought about that situation. That thought is the area you need to work on. If you shift that thought about what is going on outside of you, you will shift the way you feel.

If 10 different people experience one situation, you'll have 10 different stories and interpretations of what happened. It's because everyone has their own thoughts about what's going on. Those thoughts also come from your belief system. We'll talk about that in Step #2: Shedding Your Limiting and Negative Beliefs. It's important to recognize that whenever you feel sad, angry, frustrated or resentful, you need to go within.

Say to yourself, "I'm not feeling really good right now. Why is that? What am I thinking about at this moment that's making me feel this way?" Once you're able to analyze that, you can at that moment choose to change what you're thinking about the situation. You need to become keenly aware of your thoughts. When you become keenly aware of your thoughts, you then have the ability to shift your thoughts about that situation.

That will ultimately shift the way you feel. Once you shift the way you feel, you will shift your vibration. Once you shift your vibration and elevate your vibration and consciousness, you will then attract amazing things, people and situations into your life. You will gain clarity. You will find a solution. For some of you, that makes a lot of sense. Other people will think it sounds whoo-whoo and new-agey.

I tell you to just try it. Often, when we feel bad about something or have a negative feeling, it's your thought. Let's say that my husband cheats on me and I'm thinking, "I can't believe he did that to me. He's so disrespectful. I dedicated 20 years of my life and look what he has done to me. He said he loved me, but he never did." There are stories and interpretations we put into it. Become aware of those thoughts.

Then you'll ask, "Is that really true? What I'm thinking right now is not making me feel good." You need to shift that. A great way to shift that is to start focusing and thinking about the possible silver lining that is there for you. Find a silver lining in that situation. You'll only find it if you start looking for it. Otherwise, it's equivalent to staring at a closed door.

You will stare at the closed door and complain. You will be frustrated and angry, and have all the negative emotions. You're not going anywhere. In order to step away from that closed door and recognize the open doors all around you, you need to shift your thoughts and the way you're looking at it and your interpretation, and find that silver lining.

You might say, "I'm sorry. That sounds great, but I can't find a silver lining in my situation. It's really bad." That's exactly what happened to me. When I hit rock bottom and everything was falling apart everywhere around me and I didn't know which way to turn, what I would do or how I would get out of my situation, I could not find a silver lining; even though I knew I needed to find silver lining, I could not find it.

For those of you in that situation right now, this is what I recommend. This is what I did and it helped me. It shifted things in my life. I felt sorry for myself and wanted to end it all. I thought, "I don't know how to get out of this." I cried and cried. It's okay to cry, by the way. When something bad happens, it's okay to cry. Something bad happened. Let it out and release it. It's a good thing to release it and let it out.

It doesn't make you wrong if you start crying. I remember I was standing in front of a window in my bedroom looking out. A thought popped into my mind. I don't know where it came from, but it just did. At that moment I set this intention. It was like a declaration of sorts. I said, "I don't know why all of this happening. I have no clue, but I can assure you that something great, amazing and huge will come out of it.

"It is something really huge and much bigger than me. There is no way I'm going through all of this crap for nothing." By making that declaration, I made sure that I knew something amazing would come out of it. I couldn't see clearly right then what it would be because everything was so awful, but I was assured that something amazing was going to happen.

I didn't go through all of that for nothing. Just saying those words and setting that intention really set something in motion in the universe. Shortly thereafter, the word 'unsinkable' came to me. It became clear to me that this was a huge opportunity. The opportunity was that I needed to learn as much as I possibly could to bounce back quickly and teach others how to do it so that others can be unsinkable.
