Ric Thompson: We’ve done a lot of things over the years. You always have incredible insights and fantastic things that you’re working on. I’m very eager to jump into today’s topic and see what you have for us.

Paul Scheele: Me, too. This is so perfect. What a great time of the year to focus on intention.

Ric Thompson: Let’s do this. I have the first question for you, Paul. Look at the world around us today with the economy and societal changes. The world is continuing to go through rapid changes. How do you believe, with all your experiences and insights, people can realize their intentions when so much is changing outside of their control?

Paul Scheele: If you think about what’s happening, there’s a future that’s trying to emerge and show up in the ‘now’. It’s as if there’s a giant wave of the future that’s crashing on the shoreline. If you’re a surfer, that’s good news. There’s a lot of chaos and turbulence. As a surfer, you’re sitting on your surfboard waiting for that next, big wave to come.

As you see it coming, you start paddling as fast as you can to get your speed up to the same speed as the wave, as much as possible. You hop up on the surfboard and drop into the front face of that wave. You’re taking that potential energy and turning it into kinetic energy. That propels you to have the ride of your life, to get you where you want to go, and to arrive at your chosen destination.

If you take a different approach and think, I want to be on the beach, or out on the calm water further out in the ocean, then you won’t capture the energy of the times we’re going through right now. You’re right. The world is going through a lot of rapid changes. There’s no way that we can control and predict what’s going on. Although in business, traditionally, we thought that was our role.

To predict what is coming, we have to control our behavior and the behaviors of everybody working with us. We have to control what’s going out the door and what’s coming in the door. However, we’re beyond the time when that makes sense anymore. Things are too turbulent. There’s too much chaos. Rather than control and predict, we have to sense and respond. We have to open up our senses.

We have to see what’s emerging. We have to get in alignment with it and keep our intention clearly in mind so that we can use the energy that shows up and dynamically steer our lives to the destinations that we’re choosing. Instead of control and predict, it’s sense and respond. We’re after this dynamic steering. I hope that makes sense.

Ric Thompson: I think it does. Let’s get more specific. Let’s take, for instance, the topic of prosperity. How can people shift their beliefs in the face of all the economic changes going on? Let’s focus on prosperity so people can experience more of that.

Paul Scheele: Think about dropping into the front face of that wave. Essentially, we have to drop into an interior place from which all wealth is created. Prosperity is a belief in abundance, which is always available to us. I can have a prosperity consciousness about health, relationships, financial wealth and success, my personal growth, and my spiritual growth and development.

If I have a prosperity consciousness, I know that there’s an abundance of all things that I need. Does my prosperity and financial wealth come from my job, or does it come from a source which is unlimited? We can recognize the same thing that’s placed on the dollar bill. It’s the idea of ‘Novus Ordo Seclorum’. There’s a pyramid with the all-seeing eye of God on top of it. It’s a pretty esoteric symbol.

The idea behind it is that God is the source of all abundance. There is an unlimited source. Where do we make contact with God? We make contact with that infinite source through an interior connection. We want to drop in, first and foremost, to that interior place. We need to think about the future that we truly desire to create. When you represent that perfect future, you’re actually setting into motion all that’s necessary to cause that to occur.

We have to live into the effect in order for the causes to be produced. That’s a turnaround from the way most people think about how we create things in the world. We think about cause and effect. We want to create a strong cause so that the effect can occur. The truth is, in a quantum, physical universe, the effect actually needs to precede the cause.

In order for the computer here in front of me on my desk to come into existence, it had to exist in consciousness first. The effect had to exist in consciousness first. The same is true with what we have to do. In order to create a future that we truly desire, we have to first have a full representation of what that looks like, sounds like, and feels like. Then we need to take very small, concrete steps in the direction of that goal.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, when you really believe in yourself and the abundance that’s available, that’s not very difficult to do. The challenge I’ve had, as an entrepreneur during the last three decades, is that my mind can run so far ahead of me and live so into that future, that when it’s not coming into manifestation instantaneously in my life, I get a little down on myself. It’s important that I become my own best friend in this and really be able to stay on it. That’s when we use the concept called Solutions Focus. I’d be happy to talk more about that.

Ric Thompson: Sure. Do you want to dig into that right now?
